Air Seychelles seals cooperation with the Seychelles Investment Board (SIB)
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Seychelles Investment Board (SIB) aimed to combine synergies when promoting the Seychelles as well as the national airline throughout trade and travel events.
Under this agreement both parties will jointly explore trade, tourism and investment opportunities across the Air Seychelles network and that of its partner airlines to increase the visibility of Seychelles and eventually grow the number of investors to our shores. Apart from providing all members of SIB with more attractive fares when travelling on Air Seychelles, the two partners will also make extensive use of each other’s digital platforms to promote their offerings globally.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer Air Seychelles, said: “This year is very exciting for Air Seychelles as we will be adding two new destinations to our network, Durban and Dusseldorf. The signing of this MoU has come at a very opportune time and as the national airline of Seychelles, we are delighted to extend our support to SIB.
“The agreement signed today will benefit both SIB and Air Seychelles significantly as it will grow the awareness of Seychelles as an investment destination and increase Air Seychelles’ exposure within the travel and trade industry.
“This remarkable partnership will not only grow the diversification of visitors arriving in Seychelles, but will further bring continuous development in the travel and trade industry, a key enabler of the Seychelles economy.”
Mr. Rupert Simeon, Chief Executive Officer SIB said: “This Memorandum of Understanding between Air Seychelles and the Seychelles Investment Board is a first between the two entities and immediate benefits are enormous such as exposure through Air Seychelles inflight magazines, videos and website. We will also benefit from reduce rate for transportation for employees, stakeholders, delegates provided Air Seychelles operate to or has codeshare to the destination. We hope that with such an initiative SIB will be able to increase the number of business passengers on Air Seychelles and also increase the volume of cargo.”
The agreement was sealed by Air Seychelles Chief Executive Officer, Roy Kinnear and SIB Chief Executive Officer, Rupert Simeon in the presence of SIB and Air Seychelles Management teams at the Air Seychelles VIP Lounge.
