Air Seychelles plans for an additional service to Chennai
Air Seychelles, in collaboration with the Seychelles Indian High Commission (HCI), is planning to operate an additional service to Chennai in the month of August, to facilitate the travel of Indian citizens to their home.
To further evaluate the demand to operate the flight, travellers are invited to register their interest via airseychelles.com or contact +248 4391000 to receive up-to-date information.
Eligible travellers must hold a valid Indian passport, must be an Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder (OCI) or a Foreign National of which prior approval from HCI will be required before booking the flight.
Travellers holding a valid Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP) can also register for this flight. In case the GOP has expired on or after 20 March 2020, the traveller will need to verify and satisfy all the requirements set by the department of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with the Immigration and Civil Status of Seychelles, to be allowed to exit the country without any adverse remarks on their passport.
As a mitigation against the spread of COVID-19, travellers will also need to confirm their willingness to undergo the compulsory institutional paid quarantine for 7 days including two RT-PCR tests upon arrival in Chennai, apart from having a minimum of at least USD250 (Euro240 or GBP200) to travel with.
Due to the dynamism of the COVID-19 pandemic, all flights will be subjected to the approval of the government including regulatory approval as well as that of the health authorities at each destination.
Note, the outbound flight will be operated as a commercial passenger service whilst the returning sector from Chennai to Seychelles will be an all-cargo operation.
