Air Seychelles celebrates upcoming launch of non-stop Paris flights with cocktail reception
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, celebrated the upcoming launch of its non-stop services between Paris and Seychelles with a stylish cocktail function held on Tuesday, 16 June, in the splendour of Salons Hoche, a 19th- century baroque mansion in Paris.
The elegant reception was attended by more than 100 guests from the travel trade, business and diplomatic community including Bernard Shamlaye, Seychelles’ Ambassador to France, Maurice Loustau-Lalaane, Seychelles’ Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs and board member of Air Seychelles; and Bernadette Willemin, Director for Europe at the Seychelles Tourism Board.
The non-stop Paris service will be launched on 1 July 2015 with three flights-per-week, replacing the current twice-per week service via Abu Dhabi. It will be operated to and from Terminal 2 at Charles de Gaulle airport using a modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 18 Business Class and 236 Economy Class seats.
Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles’ Chief Executive Officer, said: “There is a clear sense of excitement building among the travel trade and other stakeholders as we get closer to 1 July, when our inaugural non-stop service will take off for Paris.
“The French outbound travel market, a key driver of tourism in Seychelles, will have convenient overnight connections to our beautiful archipelago three times per week.
“In addition, from our hub in Mahé, business and leisure travellers travelling from France will be one flight away from convenient onward connections to Antananarivo in Madagascar, and Mauritius, our two sister islands in the Indian Ocean.”
