Air Seychelles captures the best of Seychelles cooking with new menus
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has introduced new menus inspired by traditional Seychelles cuisine on board its flights from 1 March, 2016.
The revised meal selection features new entrées, main courses and desserts on all regional and international routes including services to Abu Dhabi, Paris, Mauritius, Mumbai, Antananarivo and Johannesburg.
Highlights of the new inflight dining options include an appetizer of seared tuna with spicy mango salad, main courses of grilled king prawns in Creole sauce and fish coconut curry, and a rich walnut and carrot cake for dessert.
Having received feedback from our guests on the Seychelles – Johannesburg sector, the breakfast service has been upgraded to brunch. Guests travelling on that route in Business Class can now choose from a selection of poached eggs, vegetable quiche or French toast whilst in Economy Class guests will be offered cheesy scrambled eggs, vegetable frittata and American pancakes.
The menus have been designed by a team of skilled local chefs at Skychef Servair, the leading catering business in Seychelles, in consultation with Air Seychelles catering team.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “We are delighted to introduce our new menus, offering guests a range of delicious new dishes and flavours that are influenced by the culinary traditions of Seychelles.
“These menus have been carefully prepared to reflect the best of our island cuisine, known around the world for its seafood, exquisite tropical fruits and adept use of spices.
“As the national carrier, we are very proud of our authentic inflight dining service, which provides the first taste of Seychelles for many travellers who are just discovering our tropical islands.”
Complementing the inflight menu is an extensive selection of beverages that includes a world-class wine and champagne cellar, the popular Takamaka Bay rum, which is produced in the Seychelles, as well as other assorted soft drinks and fruit juices.
Air Seychelles also offers a selection of international dishes and special meals that cater to specific dietary requirements, including halal and vegetarian meals, which are available upon request when booking air tickets.
